In 1926 “BAMA” traveled west to become the first southern football team to play in the Rose Bowl. Getting no respect from the media or fans across the country, this “BAMA” team was supposed to roll over and many said that was the only reason to invite a team like Alabama. No one gave this little”BAMA” team a chance to win. Final score “BAMA” 20 — Washington 19. When the coaches met at midfield after the game, the Washington coach told coach Wade we could have beat you on any other day.
