SEC race could be wide open
Nick Saban has drawn rave reviews for his 2008 signing class, which features several freshmen capable of making immediate contributions. Of particular interest is former Foley High wideout Julio Jones, whom Sporting News believes “is a combination of (NFL stars) Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald.” Jones and his classmates will meld with a core of experienced players to create what could be the Tide’s most intriguing team in years. The offensive line, anchored by tackle Andre Smith and center Antoine Caldwell, is considered one of the nation’s 10 best units.
