High Stakes, High Rewards: Strength vs. strength in an ‘awesome’ test
Alabama has run the ball better than anyone else in the SEC this season. And Georgia has stopped the run better than anyone else in the SEC this season. Georgia, with its arsenal of playmakers, has averaged more yards in total offense than anyone else in the SEC. And Alabama, with its arsenal of imposing defenders, has allowed fewer yards per game than all but two SEC teams. “These are the kind of games,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said, “that you should come to a place like the University of Alabama to play in.”

Who’s got the edge between Alabama and Georgia?
Tide offensive keys: Alabama would like to line up and run the ball between the tackles against the Bulldogs. The Tide’s strength — a veteran offensive line — may allow it to do that at times. Tide defensive keys: Alabama’s defensive front should have an edge in controlling the line of scrimmage, but it probably won’t be the dominating type of performance it demonstrated last week at Arkansas.

It’s hard to tell which team is underdog
Wait a minute. Who’s the seven-point underdog here anyway? For some reason, Georgia is treating this game like its some prelude to the national championship. Let’s see. Where does Georgia rank on the Tide’s annual list of priorities? Behind Auburn. Below Tennessee. After LSU. Beneath a New Year’s Day bowl opponent.
