Rival coaches not happy with Kiffin
If you’re the football coach at the University of Tennessee and have yet to play a game, there are two things you can do to endear yourself to Vols fans:

• Fire a warning shot in the direction of Florida.
• Get under the skin of Alabama’s coach.

Castille ‘living the dream’
The difference was felt while winning the NFC Championship, and soaked in during last week’s preparation for the biggest game of his career. But seeing the number of fans suddenly waiting outside the Arizona Cardinals’ training facility on a daily basis, well, former University of Alabama fullback Tim Castille could only call that ‘absolutely insane.’ ‘We’ve never had people outside the complex waiting for us after every practice,’ the second-year pro said. ‘It happens at Alabama, but it doesn’t happen here.

Recruiting: LB prospect Petey Smith is now on board
Smith made it official today, committing to become the 21st expected addition to the UA signing class that should be finalized next Wednesday. “I’m going to Alabama,” Smith previously told Crimson Confidential.com. “Alabama is just a better school and that’s where I want to go.” His brother Eric was a true freshman running back at Auburn this past season.

Recruiting: Chuck Franks considers UA offer
Fayette County High School football prospect Chuck Franks is considering a late offer from the University of Alabama. Franks, a 6-foot-3, 218-pound linebacker and tight end, visited Alabama last weekend after previously committing to Western Kentucky. He said head coach Nick Saban offered him a scholarship as a delayed-entry grayshirt.

Panel tackles student football ticket issue
University of Alabama students have an unquenchable demand for football tickets, but that didn’t translate into a packed student section during games this past season. For the seven home games, several thousand tickets went unused each game.
