
Some SEC signees we might see early
Here’s an early (keep in mind, really early) stab at some of the newcomers in last week’s SEC signing classes who are most likely to play next season. The players are listed alphabetically: OT D.J. Fluker, Alabama: Hey, Andre Smith started from the time he set foot on campus. RB Trent Richardson, Alabama: Nick Saban likes to play multiple backs, and Glen Coffee bolted for the NFL.
Saban, President Witt, Vice-Provost Nelson speak on integrity
Football head coach Nick Saban, UA President Robert Witt and Vice President of Student Affairs and Vice Provost Mark Nelson spoke on the meaning of integrity Wednesday at the concluding event for the fourth annual Capstone Creed Week. “I say all time that your character is an accumulation of your thoughts, habits and your priorities on a day-to-day basis,” Saban said. “And those three things determine the choices you make, and the choices you make make you who you are.”
Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. runs down Alabama’s NFL prospects

4. Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama fans probably realized how difficult it will be to replace All-American left tackle Andre Smith and center Antoine Caldwell during the Sugar Bowl, when Utah’s defense whipped the offensive line in the Tide’s 31-17 loss. Quarterback John Parker Wilson and All-SEC safety Rashad Johnson also will have to be replaced, but most of Alabama’s stingy defense will return. The schedule will be a little easier than it was last season, as the Crimson Tide will play South Carolina, Tennessee and LSU at home but won’t play Florida or Georgia during the regular season.
