There is little doubt that football is the No. 1 sport for the sports-minded fans in the state of Alabama. And the No. 2 sport in Alabama, many sports fans say, is recruiting. Prattville High School had 11 players sign letters of intent on National Signing Day. He also said that two of his juniors who will be seniors this fall have already attracted a lot of attention for the class of 2010 – quarterback Sam Gibson and the Lions’ strong safety Nick Perry. “They will be highly recruited. Both (Auburn) Coach (Gene) Chizik and (Alabama) Coach (Nick) Saban have made visits and are interested.”, said Prattville’s coach.
Coach Saban to Speak at Nike Coach of the Year Clinic
Seven state high school football championship coaches will join their college brethren in spicing the speaker’s podium at the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic from Feb. 27-March 1 at the Orlando International Plaza Resort and Spa. Speakers include Alabama’s Nick Saban, Florida State’s Rick Trickett and Jimbo Fisher, Florida A&M’s Joe Taylor, Florida’s Dan McCarney, legendary NFL defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, now with Tennessee, and the Miami defensive staff.
