Orlando Sentinel: Coach Kiffin leaves rotten impression
How bad is it when an entire city is now protesting your college football coach? And how bad is it when even your own athletic director essentially calls your football coach a liar? Just ask University of Tennessee fans. In the last week, new coach/pathological liar Lane Kiffin has become the laughing stock of the entire country. Other similar articles:

Is Alabama’s schedule in 2009 easier than it was last year?
In the analysis, Chris writes, “On the surface, Alabama’s SEC schedule looks a little easier than it did a year ago.” Given the fact that the Crimson Tide went 12-0 in the 2008 regular season, that’s probably good news for you guys. Chris also lauds coach Nick Saban for scheduling a marquee national game at a neutral site for the third straight year and mentions that the SEC “heavyweights” don’t show up until October, “which should give the Crimson Tide some time to sort out their quarterback situation and build some continuity in their rebuilt offensive line,” he wrote.

Lions land on college recruiters’ radar screens
There is little doubt that football is the No. 1 sport for the sports-minded fans in the state of Alabama. And the No. 2 sport in Alabama, many sports fans say, is recruiting. Prattville High School had 11 players sign letters of intent on National Signing Day. He also said that two of his juniors who will be seniors this fall have already attracted a lot of attention for the class of 2010 – quarterback Sam Gibson and the Lions’ strong safety Nick Perry. “They will be highly re­cruited. Both (Auburn) Coach (Gene) Chizik and (Alabama) Coach (Nick) Saban have made visits and are interested.”, said Prattville’s coach.

Coach Saban to Speak at Nike Coach of the Year Clinic
Seven state high school football championship coaches will join their college brethren in spicing the speaker’s podium at the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic from Feb. 27-March 1 at the Orlando International Plaza Resort and Spa. Speakers include Alabama’s Nick Saban, Florida State’s Rick Trickett and Jimbo Fisher, Florida A&M’s Joe Taylor, Florida’s Dan McCarney, legendary NFL defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, now with Tennessee, and the Miami defensive staff.
