What to Expect from SEC Coaches This Year: East and West
Nick Saban- In 2009 Nick Saban will take 14 days off from recruiting to attend University of Alabama games. It may kill him to take this time off, but contractual obligations being what they are, he will attend the games. Saban spends millions investing in voice to text technology for cell phones to reach more recruits. He will still look irritated doing press conferences and interviews as it takes time away from his recruiting and he will set a new season record for saying “aight.”

Second-graders get surprise from Saban
What started out as lesson in letter-writing turned into a pleasant surprise for Connie Gilley’s second-grade class. “We were going to write to their parents and then we got to talking about signing day and most of the students in the class are huge Alabama fans, so the students decided they had rather write to Coach (Nick) Saban.” Even the students who aren’t Alabama fans wrote letters to Saban. Less than a week after the letters were sent to Saban, the students got a response.

Smelley considering playing football at UA
Chris Smelley is still considering the possibility of playing football for the University of Alabama. “It’s a thought,” Smelley said. “I talked to Coach Saban about it when I first got here. It’s a little time down the road. I have to sit out this year, won’t be able to play for, what, a year-and-a-half or so, but it’s something I’d definitely be considering strongly.” The American Christian Academy graduate, who transferred to UA after playing quarterback for Steve Spurrier at South Carolina.  Other similar articles:
