Ex-Tide players set for Draft
For as long as he can remember, former University of Alabama center Antoine Caldwell has watched the NFL Draft on television. But this time will obviously be drastically different because one of the names he’ll see scroll by on the bottom of the screen will be his own. “It’s what every player who played college football dreams of,” Caldwell said. The All-American is one of a handful of Crimson Tide standouts who hope to be selected this weekend, beginning with the first two rounds tonight.
Tide’s Smith still expecting high selection despite slip
The time for Andre Smith to take that long-awaited deep breath is almost here. NFL draft day has finally arrived for Alabama’s Outland Trophy winner, who hasn’t exactly navigated the evaluation and preparation stages of the process smoothly. In spite of the troubles — ranging from going AWOL at the combine to his poor performance on pro day — Smith is expected to be an early first round pick when the draft begins at 3 p.m. today. The first two rounds will be held today, with the final five starting at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Nick Saban to serve as grand marshal at ‘Dega…
Aaron’s, Inc. of Atlanta, GA announces their line-up of special guests that are scheduled to attend the Aaron’s Dream Weekend at Talladega for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Aaron’s 499 race on April 26 and the Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 race on April 25. Alabama football coach Nick Saban will serve at the Grand Marshal for the Aaron’s 499 and will give the command to start engines.
Bama Is FINALLY Back!
“Alabama is back!” It has been many years since any fan of the Crimson Tide has been able to make a comment like that or even conceive the notion that thier team could honestly even really compete for a national championship. Even then, though, there was still that feeling that we were going to lose at least one, maybe two, games. With the arrival of Nick Saban I can honestly say that that sinking feeling is long gone. It has been a while since I have seen a coach yell at a player even if he did something good. Not because he did not like the outcome, but because he did not execute it the right way.
Best of the Rest:
Roll Tide!
