What did Nick Saban say at the Memphis stop of the Crimson Caravan?
Saban, on his general thoughts on spring practice: “Well, we had a great offseason, a great spring practice. I liked the attitude of our players, I think we made a lot of improvement. Greg McElroy established himself as a leader on the offensive side of the ball, and that was probably a good thing. Defensively, we were pretty consistent in how we played. Every team that you have coming out of spring, you still have a few issues with. We need to continue to develop our offensive line and probably overall chemistry on offense. The goal is the same: To be a dominant team. But sometimes the motivation is a little bit different. What kind of inspiration they have will be a real key to how successful they can be.”
Saban, Musso third in Chick-fil-A event
University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban and former UA player Johnny Musso placed third in the Chick-fil-A Bowl Challenge golf tournament Tuesday, earning a $37,500 scholarship donation. Saban and Musso finished tied with Georgia Tech’s Paul Johnson and Jon Barry at 10-under par.
Saban: Tide should play Notre Dame
The new University of Alabama football coach has a scheduling philosophy that he believes in. And it includes his team playing one big-time, high-interest intersectional game per year. “I’d like to play Notre Dame,” Saban said during a question-and- answer period following Wednesday’s speech to a packed room of members of the Rotary Club of Birmingham. “We played them three times at Michigan State and beat them three times. That was a great national game, it creates fan interest and TV will always jump on those games.”
Best of the rest:
Roll Tide!
