Nick Saban breaks down the SEC West… and other stuff!
When Nick Saban visited Memphis on Tuesday night, he touched on a few random topics while talking to myself and a couple other reporters. Saban was also asked a more wide-reaching question. How is the Southeastern Conference West shaping up? “I know a lot of good teams have a lot of good players coming back,” Saban said. “I know Ole Miss has a lot of players coming back, LSU’s got a lot of players coming back, Arkansas’s going to be a lot better, they have a new quarterback, they have a lot of players coming back. Auburn’s always good. In fact, I just watched their spring game today. They look like they’ve got a pretty good football team.”

Alabama 2009 recruit Quinton Dial heading to junior college
Alabama Class of 2009 signee Quinton Dial will not be heading to Tuscaloosa this fall. The Clay-Chalkville senior defensive tackle was Crimson Tide all the way. He never entertained any other offers. He was the seventh prospect in his class to give an oral commitment to the Alabama program back in June of 2008. But he said Wednesday to look for him to be at East Mississippi Community College this fall. It appears the earliest he can join the Alabama team will now be in January of 2011.
Saban makes appearance in recruiting hotbed Memphis
Memphis had always been on the Crimson Caravan’s list of possible locations, and 2009 was the year it rotated onto the schedule. The fact that the city figures to be a recruiting hotbed for the 2010 signing class? The official word: Pure coincidence.
Best of the rest:
Roll Tide!
