Finebaum: Fans blindy support of Saban, Meyer
“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.” That is one of the most famous quotes in the history of global politics, uttered by Lord Acton in 1887 in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton. Which brings us to Urban Meyer and Nick Saban. These are the two best coaches in the SEC, perhaps the entire nation. Collectively, they own three of the last six BCS titles.

Nick Saban, Alabama barely miss top spot on SEC Spring Prospectus
The lane is wide open for Florida to take the No. 1 spot. But No. 2 Alabama made an intriguing case because of the weapons returning to Tuscaloosa, despite losing several leaders. Alabama could have the same record as Ole Miss entering the final week, but the Tide will get the tiebreaker thanks to a win over the Rebels on Oct. 10. As long as McElroy stays poised and doesn’t lose games for Alabama, the defense and the running game will take care of the rest. That’s the Alabama way. The biggest question mark is whether the offensive line can still dominate after replacing three starting spots.

SEC Breakdown 2009: How Will Alabama Fare This Season?
Alabama had one of the biggest surprises of the year just by going undefeated in the regular season. That proved that Nick Saban is capable of doing anything if he’s just given the time. In that case though, he only needed two years. So, will Alabama be as successful as they were in the 2008 season or will they have to wait another year to be successful?

Roll Tide!
