UA announces 2010 football game against former Tide coach Bill Curry’s new program at Georgia State
A day after after confirmation was reached on a 2010 season opener against San Jose State, Alabama has now announced all four non-conference games for the 2010 season: 9/4 San Jose State, 9/11 Penn State, 9/18 Duke, 11/20 Georgia State. One particularly interesting item … The head coach of a new program at Georgia State should be familiar to Alabama fans. It is Bill Curry, who coached the Crimson Tide from 1987-89.

Alabama will appeal NCAA’s ruling on textbook case
The University of Alabama will appeal sanctions handed down last week by the NCAA Committee on Infractions for major violations stemming from the school’s textbook investigation. UA President Robert Witt confirmed today that the school is in the process of preparing a notice of appeal and will file it prior to June 26, the NCAA’s 15-day deadline.

Ranking the non-conference schedules: SEC
What better way to kick off our annual ranking of college football non-conference schedules than by introducing the SEC: the biggest, baddest conference in the land. And the conference that, as a rule, avoids heavy lifting at all cost in non-conference scheduling. It has been proven that a one-loss — or in the case of LSU, a two-loss — SEC team can find a way to the BCS National Championship game. Why risk it in the non-con games? Some notables: 1. Georgia. 4. Alabama, 8. Auburn, 9. Florida, 12. Mississippi

Roll Tide!
