Alabama’s Next Big Surprise: Eddie Lacy, Redshirt Freshman Running Back
Eddie Lacy was a high school star from Dutchtown High School in Geismar, Louisiana. One has to admire Eddie Lacy’s decision to come to the University of Alabama. When he signed, he knew Glenn coffee was the main man, he is now in the NFL, and he knew that Mark Ingram was the star in waiting, and boy was he. Lastly he knew that he would be butting heads with fellow freshman Trent Richardson, the nation’s most sought after running back. So despite LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Ole Miss and others still begging him to come to their programs, he chose to go where the sailing would not be smooth. He chose Alabama. [More]

Saban’s call thrusts Tide into serious contention for WR
DeAnthony Arnett did have a top eight and a top three among that group. But that was Sunday night. Things changed Monday night. That’s when Nick Saban called. Alabama entered the mix in a big way by offering the 6-foot, 170-pound Arnett, who runs a 4.48 40. “I talked with Coach Saban over the phone,” Arnett told Wednesday afternoon. “It went real well. My high school coach, Coach (Gary) Lee, coached Mark Ingram in high school, and Coach Saban told me he wants me to win the Heisman like Mark did. [More]

Mel Kiper Jr.: Rolando McClain perfect pick for Dolphins
ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. has Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain at No. 8 on his latest big board unveiled Wednesday afternoon, but said on a conference call with the national media that he still has McClain slotted to Miami with the No. 12 selection. “He’s a heckuva player,” Kiper said. “Worthy of being that high a choice. He’s always been regarded as an elite player – he has a lot of fire and intensity, sets the tone, has a Ray Lewis-type enthusiasm for the game. This is an inside linebacker who looks like an outside linebacker.” [More]

Rolando McClain Is The Right Man For Big Blue
With Antonio Pierce just getting the axe in New York, one of the positions that The Giants have a clear cut need at is middle linebacker. Since the days of Lawrence Taylor, the best linebackers to suit up in Giants blue are arguably Antonio Pierce and Jesse Armstead. Needless to say the tradition has died. The Giants linebacking core was once titled “The Crunch Bunch”, but those days are long gone. Recently, The Giants have shown a propensity to settle at a position that they were once known for, and that’s a shame. But as the draft approaches, one man stands head and shoulders above the rest in the quest to resurrect a Big Blue tradition: Rolando McClain. [More]
