Four ‘Bama Defenders Could Help Cowboys

Win a national championship in any college sport, and your roster probably contains a few future first-round picks. “As soon as the (championship) game ended we went right to work,” cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick said. “You’re trying to prepare yourself to be a high draft pick.” Running back Trent Richardson might be the first Crimson Tide star selected. The next four – safety Mark Barron, Kirkpatrick and linebackers Donte Hightower and Courtney Upshaw – could all fall in range of the Cowboys’ No. 14 selection.

Garrett made a personal visit to L.A. last year for Tyron Smith’s workout, and weeks later the Cowboys took the USC offensive tackle at No. 9. Could Garrett grab one of his old boss’s players this year? It’s possible. He certainly trusts Saban’s program and opinion. [More]
